GENTLE GIANTS

When I was a little girl, Mom used to sit at the piano and sing this beautiful psalm, "When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him?"
------------------------------------
Hearing Mom compose music to David's song got my attention and I began taking note of things above my head from sunrises to sunsets and moonrises to moon-outs. I was amazed at how mighty, yet fragile the clouds were and as I watched these gentle giants of the sky, I began to understand the artist side of God's heart. The picture to your left was captured on my Sony 6.0 cybershot digital camera while traveling east on I-10 through 'the Pass' outside of Banning, California. The second highest mountain range in California, Mount San Jacinto, stands nearly 11,000 feet above the sea. The quiet mountain dominates the horizon as clouds rush around it like adoring children dressing a dozing nanny. My fingers hesitate to further box this scene into words, except to add these words from one of my favorite songs, "Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee, how great Thou art ...." How gentle, too!
