TIMES FLIES

Wow, my last post was a month ago ... here it is November 7 and it feels like a year has passed since we were cruising the Pacific toward Mexico with Don's brother Keith & his wife Beth.
.
Don preached at the Valley Adventist Church for their Veteran's Day celebration, November 8. Look below at the 22 veterans who stepped forward to tell their story and to be honored by the congregation. After all the men told alittle about their time in the military service, Don preached a sermon, "The Lord's Soldiers." It was good to see Don in his uniform again ... of course, he always looks great in anything he wears, but when he's wearing his military uniforms, I feel like I'm standing next to a V.I.P. -- Well, I am!
.
Below is a picture of Valley Adventist Church Pastor Vadim Dementyev wearing Don's Chaplains Dress Blues after the Veteran's Day Worship ... Pastor Vadim says that it is only by the Grace of God this possible, a man born and raised in Russia, honoring American soldiers!

Back to what we did this last month, October 2008. My side of the family, those who could come, joined my folks for Mom's birthday at the Escondido Country Club. I even baked Mom a cake and she really seemed to enjoy herself. Here's the group by the pool and Mom, herself with her strawberry cake. (Double click on the picture to enlarge it.)

Outside my living room window, the wind is gently blowing through the green trees as shadows sneak across the golf course. Hints of winter are in the air, enough to wear a jacket ... and oh dear, it's Friday afternoon, I should be making bread or vacuuming, guess I should do that right now. See you all later!
