If tomorrow never comes . . .

"Sometimes late at night I lie awake and watch her sleeping. She's lost in peaceful dreams So I turn out the lights and lay there in the dark. And the thought crosses my mind If I never wake up in the morning would she ever doubt the way I feel about her in my heart ... So I made a promise to myself to say each day how much she means to me ... If my time on earth were through. And she must face the world without me. Is the love I gave her in the past gonna be enough to last if tomorrow never comes...." - Garth Brooks, "If Tomorrow Never Comes"

When you're way out to sea with nothing but the curve of the earth as your compass it is easy to think that this life is forever. Just in case, however, you take snapshots of everything around you to remember it all in the morning. But suppose you missed that next 'fun day back-at-home' and your life was over. What if tomorrow never came?

.

Valentine's Day, the Troyer brothers boarded the good ship Carnival Valor with their wives for a Caribbean reunion & celebration. Their suitcases and hearts were full, maybe even overflowing, and their anticipation tiptoed into the present. First at the dock were Don and Nancy who boarded the ship after an all night flight from California. Then Keith and Beth followed by Ron and Jean taking a early morning flight from the frozen tundra of Minnesota to the sunny shores of Miami, Florida.

.
At supper Don & Nancy dined with those who stood up for them on a snowy night long ago in White Pigeon, Michigan, celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.

.

The next seven days, the brothers three & their wives laughed & dined & walked & shopped till their weary bones called them to bed ...

.

It was good to be together!

Waiting for the salty ride back 'home'
