The three of us arrived early at the Riverside National Cemetery Memorial Day 2011. We were hosting Dory, whose Marine husband Paul died in February. Don took her to his grave and I found a place for us to sit. Instead of sitting inside the amphitheater for the main program, we sat out under the trees where we could view the lake and the place where Don had held Dory's husband's memorial.
Dory loved being there, as just about any military family member would who has spent most of their life traveling the world. There is a sweet bond among military families that is strong and as always I found that coming to this special place made me feel right at home. The mikes were strong so we were able to hear the program well and just relax. I'll post more pictures soon of this memorable day together ... now I'm off to meet the girls on my sunrise walk.
