CHORALE FRIENDS

When we first came out to look for a place in California we were tootling around Sun Lakes at their club house and heard beautiful music coming from behind some double doors leading to their banquet room. We peaked inside and saw a large group of seniors practicing patriotic songs for their spring concert. For Don and I, it was love at first sight. As soon as we found a place and moved in, we join their chorale. I hadn't sung in many choruses as the woman's parts were always too high for little me. This time I heard I could sing tenor with the other women who had joined the guy tenor section. The lady tenors, "tenorettes" some folks call them, are a great group of ladies who love to sing and get together for lunch every so often, too. Here we are together at Christmastime at Kay's home having a party. I'm the one on the bottom step but if you go up the stairs behind me -Nancy T, there is also Jan, Doris, Lavonne (our chorale pianist), Penny, Chelle, Kay, Nancy H. Judy and Sandi are up on top and lovely Fran is behind the camera. We are, as my husband Don used to jokingly describe altos, "Low women who sing!" ... Ha!
