We were blessed to have Mom live here with us for six months, off and on, till her stroke* left her too weak to be cared for by me and the team. The three of us kids (plus 7 gkids) now take turns driving down to sit by her bedside and hold her hand and listen to her sweet voice.
.
I don't know how much more time she has before Jesus tucks her in His heart, but until then I'll remain thankful for time!
*Actually, the nurse said she didn't have a stroke as there is no noticeable sign of paralysis, yet Mom just stopped talking and slept on and on. That's the way she is now (11/15/10), but more so, no waking up, yet she does eat a little, some call this "the long goodbye," yet I am thankful we can still hold her warm hands, kiss her soft cheeks, and stroke her curly hair. Small favors granted.
